How to Merge PDF Files on Mac for Free (No Signup, No Upload)

Combining PDFs on a Mac is possible in Preview, but it means arranging thumbnails by hand. If you just want to choose files and an order, a browser tool is quicker.

Quick answer

Select your PDFs in Finder, drag them into Merge PDF, order them with the arrows, and merge.

Step by step

  1. Open Safari or Chrome and go to Merge PDF.
  2. In Finder, hold Command and click each PDF to select several, then drag them onto the drop area.
  3. Use the up and down arrows to set the order of the files.
  4. Click "Merge PDFs".
  5. The merged PDF is saved to your Downloads folder. Open it with Preview and scroll through to check it.

Tips

  • Name the files 01, 02, 03 so Finder shows them in the order you want.
  • Check page sizes before you merge. A4 and Letter pages in one file look uneven.
  • Need to reorder single pages? Pull them out with Split PDF first, then merge.

Good to know

Your files are combined in the browser and are not sent to a server.

Try it now: Merge PDF. Free, no signup, and your files stay in your browser.
