How to Electronically Sign a PDF File for Free, Without Signup
Whether it's a contract, lease agreement, or tax form, printing documents just to sign them is a thing of the past. Our free electronic signature tool allows you to visually draw and stamp your signature exactly where it needs to be, directly on your computer or mobile device.
How to eSign a Document:
- Draw Your Signature: Use your mouse, stylus, or finger to draw your signature in the pad above. You can easily select your preferred ink color (like black or blue).
- Save & Upload: Click "Use this signature" to save it temporarily in your browser, then upload the PDF document you need to sign.
- Stamp & Adjust: Once your document appears, click anywhere on the page to stamp your signature. Use the corner dots to resize it proportionally or drag it into the perfect position on the signature line.
- Download: Click "Save signed PDF". Your signature is permanently embedded into the document as a high-quality visual element.
Is This Tool Secure for Important Documents?
Yes. The privacy of your legal and personal documents is our top priority. Unlike other platforms that upload your files to external servers, this tool processes everything locally inside your web browser. Your signature and your files are never uploaded, stored, or visible to anyone else.
Note: This tool provides a visual electronic signature, which is legally binding in most countries for standard agreements (like signing with a pen). It does not provide cryptographic certificate signing.
Use PDF Sign on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows

Step by step: on iPhone · on Android · on Mac
When to Use It
Contracts, lease agreements, NDAs, permission slips, tax and bank forms, and any document where you would otherwise print, sign and scan.
Tips for Better Results
- On a phone or tablet, draw with your finger or a stylus. It usually looks more natural than a mouse.
- Try again as often as you like. Clear the pad and redraw until the signature looks right.
- Place and size the signature on the signature line, not above or below it.
- Filling in details too? Fill first with PDF Form Fill, save, then sign the saved PDF.
- Keep the unsigned original for your own records.
