Quick answer
Load the video, click the last-frame button, and download the frame as PNG or JPG.
Step by step
- Open the Video Frame Extractor.
- Drag in your MP4, WebM or MOV file. It loads straight from your device.
- Click the first-frame or last-frame button, or pause the player on any moment you want.
- Choose PNG for the best quality or JPEG for a smaller file, then click "Extract".
- Preview the frame and download it. If you extracted several frames, download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Tips
- Choose PNG when the frame will be used as an image input for another tool. Choose JPEG when file size matters.
- If the final frame looks blurry from fast motion, extract one a few frames earlier instead.
- Work from the original video file, not from a re-compressed copy. The frame can only be as sharp as the source.
Why this helps with AI video
Most AI video tools produce only a few seconds at a time, and every new clip can drift: the face changes slightly, the room looks different, the lighting shifts. The cut between clips then feels jarring.
A reliable fix is frame chaining. Take the last frame of the clip you just made and use it as the starting image of the next clip. The new scene begins exactly where the previous one stopped.
Keep the same aspect ratio and resolution for every clip, and repeat your character and scene description in each prompt. If you plan to trim overlap in your editor, extract the frame a little before the end.
Good to know
The tool seeks to a point just before the very end on purpose, because the true last moment of many video files is empty. Your video is read in your browser and is never uploaded.
